Brown Mother’s Support Episcopal Church Women of Mount Vernon, New York

They are Women who are empowered by working collaboratively as they aspire to minister to groups within and outside the Church. The Episcopal Church Women of Mount Vernon joined spiritual forces on Sunday, June 8, 2014 because they are compelled to risk transformation of the world, the church, and their own lives in Christ.

Dr. Maya Angelou wrote in “I Know Why The Caged Bird Sings”, “She comprehended the perversity of life, that in the struggle lies the joy.” Today in their struggle they embraced joy. Sts. John, Paul, and Clement, Church of the Ascension, and Trinity ECW’s grasp why the caged bird sings. Despite the most difficult times these Church Women of the Episcopal faith are faced with they sat, ate, and shared while loving their neighbor as themselves. They clearly understand in order to love and serve is to persevere and endure.

Now, there is never any guarantee of victory in history. But with loving, serving, and understanding one other they have a chance. They are looking forward to many more soul filled moments.

May they continue to love what they do and do what we love! It was a pleasure sitting with them in harmony!

A Brown Mother,
Cynthia Turnquest-Jones
