Brown Mother’s Believe in Giving

“God gives nothing to those who keep their arms crossed.” -African Proverb

Thanks to Brown Mothers in Westchester and the Five Boroughs, Tha Brown Urban Mother Partnership provided 60 mothers a personal bag with sanitary items. We joined Sts. John, Paul, and Clement Episcopal Church on the 21st of Friday from 8:30am to 10:00am. Many residents of Mount Vernon who were in need stood outside waiting to pick up a food package. These food packages are handed out every other Friday by the church. A total of 86 were handed out on this particular day. Tha B.U.M.P. greeted residents, gave warm smiles, assisted with questions, and wished Mount Vernon residents a safe day. This was clearly a successful and fulfilling atmosphere on a rainy day.

Before we got home we received a call from a lady by the name of Sofia. She stated that she wanted to thank us and was happy to see the young boys helping them this morning. Sofia shared that she was so happy that she felt like crying. Cynthia thanked Sofia and told her we will pray for her.

From my heart I want to thank you for the personal items and time you donated to fulfill a heart, build hope, and pass on grace. I look forward to collaborating with you again for Tha B.U.M.P. next volunteer adventure in April 2014.
